You know what it’s like at Christmas. You’ve bought ALL your presents and then you get an email from a retailer you use regularly – offering you a fantastic deal and so you buy some more lol

Jeez – I’ve spent so much this Christmas lol

Just bought AVATAR – Playstation 3

I also did some serious bidding on eBay this morning and I won 3 fabulous things…but *shush* I’m not telling you what they are until they arrive.

I think I’m gonna be skint in January – but what’s new in January LOL

It’s true! I’ve been watching it for weeks and weeks on ITV3 – the *new* Rebus, with Ken Stott (far, far better than the other guy who played this character. He made such an impression on me, that I cannot even remember his name lol)

I mean, Ken Stott isn’t usual *crush* material is he? (or is he?) BUT, there is just something about him, as Rebus, and when he was ‘Messiah’ and when in ‘The Vice’ – there’s a pattern forming here. Maybe, it’s true, I actually do fancy Ken Stott. Bizarre!

Can’t wait for next weeks episode. The sad thing is, they are all repeats and I am watching them again.

Tonights episode was the best yet. We saw how dedicated he is to the truth, in the face of strong opposition from his superiors. He was ‘threatened’ with his career and still, he got him man. There was also a love interest too – and he got a shag, but you didn’t see anything *pity* lol – I’ve been wondering ever since if he has a nice chest lol

He’s rugged, and unusual and downright miserable looking most of the time, but I can see why he has a large female fan club.

Can I join?

If you read this Ken, I think you’re pretty cool and damn sexy! Next time I am in Edinburgh, I’d love to bump into you :)

*Grin*

I awoke today to a bright, cold, frosty morning. It was lovely.

Frosty winter mornings are what the holiday season are all about. How people can feel Christmassy in places like Australia where it is hot this time of the year, I do not know. Turkey and trimmings, mistletoe and mince pies, Christmas trees and brightly coloured gifts under it are all about the winter season. Cold, sometimes harsh, but always so very pretty.

Almsot as soon as I had eaten breakfast I got myself ready and wrapped up before heading out into the cold. I had to go to the garage to fill up my car with petrol (£46 !!! our petrol prices in the UK are INSANE!) and then had to make a quick trip to the post office to post off a package containing a book someone bought from me on Greenmetropolis which only cost £1.07 to post second class thankfully.

Whilst I was out pottering about I found another item that I wanted to buy as a Christmas gift, so as soon as I got home, I made a cuppa and set about checking it out prior to wrapping it up. I’ve only wrapped 2 presents at this moment in time and the thought of the pile of stuff lurking in various hiding places that still needs to be wrapped makes me want to *sigh* LOL – I really must sit down on the living room floor with tons of wrapping paper, numerous brightly coloured gift tags and endless rolls of Cellotape to get it all over and done with soon! Procrastination is great huh?

I need to go wash my hair shortly, then I have things to do. Don’t think I’ll be venturing out again today, which is kinda good as it is rather cold out there. Might watch a DVD with a nice glass of wine later.

Go Go Hamsters GO!

*WoW*

The postman just brought a couple of parcels *yay* and one of them was the Go Go Hamster I ordered for my boys (2 of my cats are boys) and as I sat on the bed ripping the package open, both were sat beside me almost as if they just knew it was a present for them.

It was supposed (it cost me £21 including shipping) to be for Christmas! but the little horrors saw the package and helped me open it. Then of course, we had to test the Go Go Hamster and OMG! it’s marvellous! I am a grown up and I love it too!

What followed was a mad half hour where the hamster ran about the bedroom, both cats looking at it curiously, no doubt thinking ‘we can’t kill it till SHE leaves the room’ lol – but I didn’t leave the room, I want the hamster to survive – so play is supervised for now lol

I can’t stop laughing! it squeaks at you, runs about like a hamster on drugs and when it bumps into something, it almost yelps, turns around and sorts itself out. After they had watched it for a bit, they started following it, then started chasing it and then I started chasing it too, on my hands and knees crawling hurriedly across the carpet, me and the cats stalking it LOL

I’ve just put it away for a while as we are all exhausted with our Go Go Hamster-a-thon but as they watched me hide it in the laundry basket, I am sure when I leave the room they will jump on it, try to upend it, open it and get at that hamster!

It’s fabulous – these are for kids are they? Well, I’ve always said I am like a big kid most of the time but this is taking the piss, me playing with an interactive hamster? and crawling about on the floor chasing it? you’ve gotta laugh!

The boys love it, so much in fact that I have decided I am going to make a video later of them playing with it. Much hilarity to come me thinks….

Geez, I’ve spent so much money over the last month, but still needed to buy a PSP 3 game that was on someone’s Christmas list, so just went over to GamePlay and bought this:

AND, whilst I was at it I went over to my Amazon account and ordered the digitally remastered COLOUR *woo hoo* version of the magical ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ which is an all time classic that everyone loves. I already have this DVD in Black & White but to have it in colour is going to be fabulous. I do love this movie…

I also bought a couple of other Christmas DVD’s. The first one I bought was because someone mentioned this movie to me earlier today and due to what they told me about it, I just had to see it.

And this movie, I chose just because I liked the sound of it and the reviews left by other Amazon customers who bought it are excellent. This sounds like a movie that has to be watched on Christmas Eve, curled up on the sofa with a big glass of hot mulled wine in front of the fire.

I do so love Christmas *smile*

The postman hasn’t been yet today, but I am expecting quite a few things to be delivered. The main thing I am waiting for is the Go Go Hamster for the cats. They are going to go mental hehe

My Playstation 3 has been downloading most of the last 24 hours! Last night when I switched it on, it informed me that a operating system update was required and as these are usually large downloads, I left it to do whilst I went off to watch a DVD on my iMac as the large TV was out of action. Then when it had finished, I scouted about in the new online store selling films which you can either buy or rent. The film ‘Stardust’ took my eye, so I got myself a Playstation Wallet and bought it, as I figured it would be a movie I wanted to keep, so chose to buy rather than rent.

Stardust, based on the graphic novel by Neil Gaiman and Charles Vess, takes audiences on an adventure in an imaginary world.

A young man named Tristan tries to win the heart of Victoria, the beautiful but cold object of his desire, by going on a quest to retrieve a fallen star. His journey takes him to a mysterious and forbidden land beyond the walls of his village. On his odyssey, Tristan finds the star, which has transformed into a striking girl named Yvaine. However, Tristan is not the only one seeking the star. A king’s four living sons – not to mention the ghosts of their three dead brothers – all need the star as they vie for the throne. Tristan must also overcome the evil witch, Lamia, who needs the star to make her young again. As Tristan battles to survive these threats, encountering a pirate named Captain Shakespeare and a shady trader named Ferdy the Fence along the way, his quest changes. He must now win the heart of the star for himself as he discovers the meaning of true love.

I spent a good portion of time earlier today roughly chopping lot’s of lovely root vegetables to make a rustic casserole. I used my Grande Remoska to make it.

I find I am using the Grande Remoska which I bought over a year ago from Lakeland, more and more. It is just so versatile and everything I make in it comes out just perfect, and I mean perfect. I rarely have any disaster, cooking wise as I have been cooking many years and consider myself an excellent cook, but I did wonder on purchasing the Grande Remoska (£107 I paid for it) it if would be worth the money. It was and it is.

I bought the largest one as I cook lot’s of food, and although quite tiny in size (very slim) I eat mountains of food, so cook BIG portions lol

I took a picture of the goodies inside the Remoska just before I added the beef stock and switched it on. Had to use my Blackberry Bold to take the pic, as my Nikon was upstairs and my wee Sony compact’s battery was being charge. But, the picture came out quite good.

Scottish Lean Beef, White Turnip, Butternut Squash, Carrots, Swede,Parsnip,Shallots, Sweet Potatoes, Whole Garlic Cloves with Fresh Chives, Parsley, Sea Salt and Ground Black Pepper

Needless to say, it was delicious and can you believe we ate the whole pan full? It was so good, we went back for more and ate it all. The aroma in the kitchen was quite awesome too!

On to other more interesting stuff!

I have a monthly subscription to Love Film and my latest DVD arrived on Saturday morning.

‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ starring Brad Pitt. I’m quite enjoying it, but it is rather weird seeing Brad as a very old man for most of the film lol – and in places it is a little boring but it seems to be getting better as it goes along. I keep having to stop watching it to answer emails though *sigh*

I was reading the Tweets of my Twitter followers earlier and one of them mentioned some tea called ‘Yuletide Spirit’ which she described so wonderfully, that I just had to have some to try!

I always buy special ‘Christmas Coffee’ from Starbucks, every year but never before have I bought Christmas tea, so this will be a first *yay*

I’m always up for trying new things.

So, I went over the the website (which is NOTHING BUT TEA – a UK based company!) and found the festive tea she spoke about. I have ordered 2 x 100g packets of the loose Yuletide Spirit tea.

Yuletide Spirit

A festive black tea blend. Cinnamon, cloves, ginger, apple and almond
bits and a hint of vanilla combine to make a warming spicy tea for the
festive season.

This should be fabulous for Christmas Eve morning and of course, Christmas Day morning.
Drink tea, drink lot’s of tea – as Julia Roberts would say *chuckle*

You’ll know what I mean if you have seen the film ‘Notting Hill’ as I have, a trillion times!

Go Go Hamsters

There is a craze in the United Kingdom for Go Go Hamsters. The press and the media are all raving about them. They are 4 to collect apparently.

I gather from what I have seen and read that they are marketed for children.

The GoGo Pets Interactive Hamsters is this years number 1 Christmas
toy, it seems so simple but these cute little toys are realistic, a lot
of fun, inexpensive and they don’t need cleaning or feeding. You can
also buy various accessories such as Hamster habitats and
wheels to make their life a little more enjoyable.

Of course, they are supposed to be for children, but I’m pretty sure these interactive hamsters will be a fabulous toy for my cats for Christmas *lol*
I have images of the two boys chasing it around the house happily for hours, the only question will be, how long will it take them (or one of them) to kill it? *lol*

I make no secret of the fact that I spoil my cats, and if every British kid ‘has to have’ a Go Go Hamster this year, then my boys need to have one. They’ll have to share it of course as they are sold out everywhere now so are as rare as rocking horse s**t!

The one I have managed to get my hands on is called Num Nums and here is a picture of him:
